Is physics tutoring right for your child?
Physics often catches strong students off guard. A student who has always done well in math can suddenly find that knowing the formulas isn’t enough: physics questions are written in words, describe real situations, and expect you to decide which idea applies. That shift is where most students get stuck, and it’s exactly what Ms. Erfan focuses on.
Tutoring helps students who are falling behind in Physics 11 or 12, students who understand the lessons but freeze on tests, and students aiming for top marks before university applications. It also helps keen younger students who want to get ahead, or who are curious about competitions like the UBC Physics Olympics.
Every lesson ends with a short written report for parents: what was covered, how it went and what to practise next. You always know how your child is doing, without having to ask.

Teaching approach
How physics lessons work
- 1
Concepts first
Students learn why a formula works before they use it, so they can handle questions they haven’t seen before.
- 2
Practical problems
Ideas are tied to real situations, from a ball thrown across a field to the circuits in a phone charger.
- 3
Step-by-step problem solving
A clear routine for every problem: sketch it, list what you know, choose the right idea, then check the answer makes sense.
- 4
Ready for challenging questions
Once the basics are solid, students practise the harder, multi-step questions that show up on tests and finals.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do you tutor Physics 11 and Physics 12?
Yes. Ms. Erfan has taught both courses and tutors physics at every level, from Science 8 to Physics 12.
When should my child start physics tutoring?
As soon as a unit starts to feel shaky. Physics builds on itself, so catching a gap early in motion or forces makes the rest of the course much easier.
Is online physics tutoring effective?
Yes. Online lessons are live and one-on-one, with problems worked through together on screen. Many older students prefer it because there’s no travel.
Can you help my child prepare for a physics final?
Yes. Lessons can focus on reviewing key units and practising exam-style questions in the weeks before a test or final.
