Privacy policy

The short version: we only collect what we need to tutor your child, we never sell it, and you can ask us to see, fix or delete it at any time.

Last updated: November 2, 2026

Sum Fun Tutoring (“we”, “us”) provides math and science tutoring in British Columbia. This policy explains what personal information we collect through sumfuntutoring.ca, why we collect it, and your choices. We handle personal information in line with BC’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

What we collect

When you book a consultation, we ask for:

When you send a question, we collect your name, email, optional phone number, optional grade, and your message.

If you have a family account, we store your name, email and password (handled securely by our login provider; we never see your password), your children’s first names and grades, and details of the sessions you request.

When you visit the site, we use privacy-friendly analytics that count page visits without cookies and without identifying you. If you log in, your browser stores a sign-in token so you stay logged in.

Children’s information

Children don’t create accounts or give us information directly. A parent or guardian provides it, and we keep it to the minimum we need: a first name and grade. Please don’t include more personal detail about your child than you’re comfortable sharing.

How we use it

We don’t sell or rent personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising. We’ll only email you about tutoring you’ve asked about. We won’t add you to a mailing list without your clear permission.

Who we share it with

We only share information with the service providers that run our website, and only so they can do that:

These providers may store information on servers outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law. If you decide not to go ahead with tutoring, or you stop lessons, you can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Keeping it safe

Our site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to family information is limited to our team, and our database is protected by access rules so families can only see their own information.

Your choices and rights
