Is math tutoring right for your child?
Math is cumulative: fractions lead to algebra, algebra leads to functions, and functions lead to calculus. A small gap in Grade 5 can quietly grow into real trouble by Grade 9. One-on-one tutoring finds those gaps and fills them, so each new topic has something solid to build on.
Ms. Erfan works with younger students who need more confidence with numbers, middle school students moving into algebra, and high school students working through Foundations, Pre-calculus or Calculus 12. She also helps students prepare for the Grade 10 Graduation Numeracy Assessment.
Lessons are patient, step by step and full of examples, with practical problems that show where math is actually used. After every lesson, parents get a short report on what was covered and what to practise next.

Teaching approach
How math lessons work
- 1
Start where your child is
The first lessons find what’s solid and what’s shaky, then build from there instead of from the textbook page.
- 2
Step by step, with examples
New ideas come with lots of worked examples and practice until they click.
- 3
Practical problems
Math is connected to real situations, which makes it easier to understand and remember.
- 4
Independent learners
The goal is a student who can work through problems on their own and keeps going when something is hard.
