Calculus tutor in Vancouver for Calculus 12 and Pre-calculus

Ms. Erfan is a calculus tutor in Vancouver who has taught Calculus 12 and Mathematics 12 in public schools. She helps students understand what’s behind the rules, not just memorize them, with one-on-one lessons online or in person. That makes Pre-calculus 11 and 12 feel manageable and gets students ready for Calculus 12 and university math.

Is calculus tutoring right for your child?

Pre-calculus and Calculus 12 move quickly, and each unit depends on the last. A student who is a little unsure about functions or algebra in the fall can feel completely lost by the spring. Tutoring catches those gaps early, before they turn into a stressful final.

Ms. Erfan works with students who are struggling to keep up, students who get good marks but don’t really understand why the methods work, and students heading to university in science, engineering or business who want a strong foundation before first-year calculus.

Because she has taught Mathematics 12 and Calculus 12, she knows which ideas trip students up and how to explain them a second and third way. Parents get a short report after every lesson, so progress is easy to follow.

Teaching approach

How calculus lessons work

  1. 1

    Understand the idea

A derivative is a rate of change and an integral adds up small pieces. Once that clicks, the rules make sense.

  2. 2

    Lots of worked examples

Every new skill comes with plenty of examples, step by step, before students try it on their own.

  3. 3

    Fill the gaps

Many calculus struggles are really algebra or function gaps. Lessons find and fix those first.

  4. 4

    Exam-ready

Students practise challenging, multi-step questions so finals and first-year university math feel familiar.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you tutor both Pre-calculus and Calculus 12?

Yes: Pre-calculus 11 and 12, Foundations of Mathematics, and Calculus 12.

My child does fine in Pre-calculus. Is Calculus 12 tutoring still useful?

It can be. Calculus introduces new ways of thinking, and a few lessons early in the course often prevent problems later, especially for students heading into university science or engineering.

Can you help with university-prep math?

Calculus 12 lessons focus on understanding limits, derivatives and integrals properly, which is the best preparation for first-year calculus.

Are lessons online or in person?

Both. Lessons are 60 minutes, one-on-one, either online or at a library or café near you.
